- Open a New Finder Window, click on the application folder on the left-hand side, and look for Pages.
- Click on the Spotlight search magnifying glass in the top right of the finder bar and search for Pages.
2. However you open pages, you’ll see a window similar to the one below. Click on “New Document” found on the bottom left of the window.
3. In the next window, you will need to select the type of document you want to create. Pick the first one in the top row, “Blank”. Either double-click on “Blank” or single-click on “Blank” and click on “Choose” on the bottom right of the window.
4. Once you open your document, you should immediately save a copy of your document. Please go to “File” and select “Save”.
5. In the save box, give your document a name and choose where you want the document to save. Pages automatically saves any changes you make to your document.
6. Once you have completed your document, you will need to export a PDF version of the document to upload to Blackboard. Navigate to the “File” menu and hover over “Export To”
7. As your mouse pointer hovers over “Export To”, you’ll see a side-menu appear from the arrow on the menu. In that menu select “PDF...”.
8. Once you select “PDF...”, you will see the following screen. Click “Next” on the bottom right.
9. You will then have to choose a name for your exported document and you will need to choose to where you would like to export the document. Make sure you export the document to a folder that you can easily find.
10. Now, your document is ready to upload to Blackboard. Remember, you must upload your document to Blackboard for your instructor to review it.
